Services

I work with preteens, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in helping individuals adapt to transitions (in relationships, in work, in school, and/or with changes in family structure), treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, and improve relationships. I am trained in multiple evidenced-based therapies, and I integrate these techniques and principles to help patients understand the underlying causes of distress and learn new ways to tolerate and manage emotions. This leads to improved coping, increased agency over our choices, and greater life satisfaction.

I am not paneled with any insurance companies. However, many people have out-of-network insurance benefits and may be eligible for reimbursement for therapy. I will advise you on how to discuss your benefits and the claim submission process with your insurance company.

What to expect

Before our initial session, I will schedule a short (about 15 minutes) phone consultation. This call is a great way for me to get a clear sense of what you would like support with, answer any questions, and review scheduling and fees. If we feel that my areas of expertise align with your needs, then we schedule an initial appointment.

Each of our sessions will be 45 minutes in length, and I typically meet with individuals once or twice a week depending on the specific situation and our treatment goals. For patients who are minors, I generally schedule an initial appointment with parents/guardians and then an appointment with the child/teen. I find having a consistent day and time for our appointments to be the easiest way to guarantee my availability; however, I understand that certain circumstances may make constancy challenging, and I will do my best to accommodate whenever possible.

I view therapy as customized to the needs of the individual. Importantly, it takes time to build a therapeutic relationship in which you feel comfortable and trusting - both essential components of growth. Our first few appointments are a time to get to know each other, and determine if this is the right fit. If I am not the right fit or my services are at a rate that you cannot afford, I am more than happy to recommend other fabulous clinicians in the NYC or Los Angeles area.
